Good day fellow editors. I'd like to make a quick announcement for this week regarding some things.
Legoman
Now that some time has passed, I felt it necessary to finally address the elephant in the room. This is hopefully the last time I'll need to talk about LEGOMAN.
After an investigation into his editing history over the past year, we have concluded that there is an unignorable level of bias across his editing.
I’d like to mention a similar real-life incident: In 1920, Kenesaw Mountain Landis banished multiple members of the Chicago White Sox from ever participating in baseball again. This was done to restore faith in the game following an investigation finding that they had committed match fixing.
Effectively immediately, LEGOMAN (known on the wiki as ‘UncleHamilton’) is permanently barred from rejoining the wiki content moderation team for multiple NPoV violations, unnecessary stubbing, and abusing his position as administrator for his own benefit and for not accurately recording CPA history. I will not be reverting my decision and will not be hearing any appeals in the future. We welcome Lego to continue to contribute to the wiki as a regular editor, but he will not have his administrative and rollback permissions restored.
Staff HoF
I will be doing this early, but after consultation with Cobra and Rowan, I’d like to welcome an early induction to our staff hall of fame:
— Jayden (considered the best wiki staff team of the OG era, and one of the longest serving bureaucrats)
— DrFlen (brought the CPA wiki up to date with new anti-vandalism precautions and partnership with the CPA;TG league)
— Rowan Alden (longest serving active wiki bureaucrat, responsible for the wiki to become an actual respected body and saw its golden age)
— Cobra (helped massively documented 2017-19 CPA, including WW7 and advocacy for wiki representation in legend discussions)
— CaptainScratch (known for numerous quality-of-life reforms to the wiki and the formation of the first successful wiki discord during the golden age)
These 5 will be pioneers on the hall of fame, with a subordinate honor potentially being made for other numerous administrators. We will announce in December who will be inducted, but preparations will be prepared for that.
New Initiative
The CPA wiki is proud to announce a new initiative called “Everyone’s an Editor”. Being coined off of Huey Long’s “Every man’s a king”, this initiative will work on helping to promote better involvement with the editor community and help engage editors to edit without being staff.
A massive misconception editors have is that they need a content moderator to edit pages (and most of the time our staff team just makes self-pages). More information will be coming with the next announcement.
New Infoboxes
I will be delaying the launch of the new infoboxes until December while I still tinker with them.
Note Regarding Rowan Alden
Although thus was briefly touched on, I’d like to make a formal announcement. I will now be serving as the sole active bureaucrat following the retirement of Rowan. Rowan will temporarily be staying to help clean up NPoV biases, but intends on stepping down to guardian administrator afterwards. I’d like everyone to thank Rowan for his service.
That is all I wanted to make in this late-month announcement. Stay tuned for more announcements next month.
Happy editing,
CaptainScratch (Dino)
