The Anti-RFCP Movement consists of individuals who are openly against the Recon Federation of Club Penguin (RFCP) and its founder, Prior Bumble.

The movement has a complex history spanning from 2019 to the present day, several groups and countless people from across the CPA community.

History

Precursory Movements

The Anti-RFCP Movement is predated by a rebellion that occurred in the first week of RFCP's history [early June, 2019], later named "The Great Schism". This rebellion, led by then-HICOM member SgtSpoon, came about after intense disagreements between Spoon and Prior. Spoon attempted to seize control of RFCP by removing Prior from the RFCP server [as Spoon owned it], but Prior was able to create a new server and the majority of RFCP followed Prior to the new server.

Origins [September 2019-January 2020]

The true Anti-RFCP Movement was born on the 20th of September in 2019, when then-RFCP 3ic Kailey310 left the army. Instead of going quietly, she chose to write an open letter to the army's members and Prior Bumble on the CPA league website. In the letter, Kailey claimed that Prior had "fallen victim to power" and that RFCP had "become a cult". Reactions across the community were mixed to the allegations. Due to the lack of proof provided by Kailey, many of the allegations were dismissed at the time. Her comments were further dismissed after Kailey, strongly regretting her actions, appealed to Prior that she be allowed back into RFCP and was. However, this would ultimately prove to be just the beginning.

Approximately a month later, Kailey departed once again. She wrote a second open letter condemning Prior once again. The letter went into deeper depth on her issues with the Recon Federation and Prior, providing screenshots of conversations between the two of them. The inclusion of proof meant more attention was paid to Kailey's second letter. Kailey herself moved to RPF after the letter's release, but then switched to ACP. However, this event didn't truly kickstart anti-RFCP sentiments within the community. Only ACP actively took a stance against RFCP during this time period over the allegations made. A war was fought between the two armies in October to an RFCP loss.

In November of 2019, the first Anti-RFCP group was uncovered by alternative news organisation, Club Penguin Army News Network. CPANN uncovered a secret RFCP hate group which included Kailey, long-disgraced OG RFCP member SgtSpoon, ex-3ic Cabin and DatBoiRaven, a RFCP HICOM member who had apparently died several months before. It was revealed Raven had faked his own death in order to get out of RFCP.

Kailey and Prior had a final stand-off shortly after this. After several failed diplomatic attempts to reclaim Northern Lights from ACP [invaded during the war between the two armies], the Recon Federation decided to hold a joke event in which they logged on to Northern Lights and drilled at the iceberg so as to "take Northern Lights and push it somewhere else." ACP responded by logging on and the armies battled for half an hour. Prior and ACP's leaders agreed to log off at :30, but this agreement fell apart when 5 ACP members stayed logged on, including Kailey. Prior similarly stayed logged on and a stand-off began. Prior remained primarily silent as Kailey and the others harassed him and mocked him. Eventually, they too fell silent. Over the course of five hours, each member of ACP logged off until only Prior and Kailey remained. Eventually, Kailey was persuaded to log off and Prior declared victorious. This coincidentally also marked the end of Kailey's direct involvement in the Anti-RFCP Movement.

RFCP ban

The statement made by DMT, CPATG league admin. Viewers discretion is advised.

Tensions did not die down from this. Shortly thereafter, screenshots were given to the CPATG league admins of RFCP parties held on CPATG in July that were highly NSFW. The Recon Federation was banned from the league for a week for this, Prior banned for two weeks and half of RFCP's servers forfeited. In response, Prior pulled RFCP out of the league for good, declaring independence. The Recon Federation's response was largely considered an overreaction by the wider community and the incident itself was not something that plagued RFCP for long.

Things appeared to simmer down after this seeing as RFCP no longer interacted with the community. It was around this time that an unaffiliated discord user with no prior CPA history, later identified as Justin Cooper, started asking questions around RFCP. At the time, nothing seemed to come of this. However, this all suddenly changed in January of 2020 when numerous long-standing members of RFCP suddenly quit over the course of the month. This trend was kickstarted by then-CPA Wiki administrator Rowan Alden and later followed by Emma [lunch room], Phoebe, Dawnables and Sidie9 among others.

Rowan went on to write an open letter of his own, originally published to the CPA Wiki a few months after his departure. In it, Rowan detailed the inner goings-on of RFCP during their isolation and discussed how two arguments between he and Prior had ultimately resulted in his departure. He also discussed Prior's failed attempts to shut down a hangouts server ran by Rowan entirely made up of members of RFCP [most of whom were among the members that left in January].

At the time, it wasn't publicly known why other members like Sidie9, Phoebe, etc. left RFCP. However, it gradually became public knowledge that a subset of individuals presumably within this wave of departures allegedly accidentally doxxed Prior Bumble, which led to a breakdown in relations and ultimately their departures from RFCP.

It was this string of departures and open letters that really started the fire when it comes to the Anti-RFCP Movement.

Mounting Tensions [January 2020-]

Several more open letters were released in the ensuing weeks and months, and gradually condemnation of RFCP continued to brew. However, the Recon Federation was cast in a more sympathetic light after a group of individuals from the CPA community doxxed several members of RFCP's high command. These actions were not condoned by many former members of RFCP, but the community wasn't as quick to attack the individuals involved.

In February of 2020, Justin Cooper suddenly returned to publish a comprehensive web post discussing the activities of the Recon Federation, going as far as to label RFCP a cult. At the time, much of Cooper's work was already public knowledge and consequently it didn't change much. However, these days it has new value as an easy means of explaining what went on within RFCP in 2019.

Attitudes towards RFCP throughout 2020 fluctuated. The army was involved with Club Penguin Army Media before withdrawing following an expose post written by a CPAM reporter which revealed RFCP didn't allow its members to join the CPAM server, and also shed light on historic allegations of sexual misconduct and of RFCP being a cult. This was followed by the command by Prior that all RFCP members must either leave all CPA servers or resign from RFCP immediately. Some chose to stay inside armies, including MaddieCW. Maddie went on to form the 'RFCP Rejects' server, taking a much more hostile view on RFCP following conversations with other former members of RFCP. This was renamed to 'RFCP Awoken', members of which worked to have the RFCP server deleted by Discord for violating ToS. However, these efforts were unsuccessful and the server eventually disbanded as some ex-RFCP moved on from their past whilst other members went onto other methods.

and Club Penguin Army Hub before being banned by army leader vote. However, contemporarily it's commonly understood that this move wasn't actually conducted out of safety/morality concerns and was instead politically motivated [reflected in the decisions of historic enemies PIC and LGA to vote against the ban].

Notable Anti-RFCP Groups/Individuals

Many individuals and groups/armies were involved with the Anti-RFCP Movement between 2019 and 2022. Some of the more notable ones include:

Kailey310- An original member of RFCP, working her way up to 3ic. Wrote the first two open letters, kickstarting the Anti-RFCP Movement. Later involved in ACP's wars against RFCP and even led ACP for a brief period of time, albeit to mixed reviews. Retired after this stint and has only made brief returns since, including to assist with the RFCP Awoken server.

Army of Club Penguin- Provided a safe space for many former members of RFCP over the years, one of the first armies to take an active stance against RFCP back in 2019. Actively fought RFCP in warfare on multiple occasions.

Rowan Alden- Joined RFCP in September 2019. Originally left in January 2020. Wrote an open letter shortly after his departure and had involvement in PIC's war against RFCP and the 'Shapreme website'. After spending time as RFCP advisor in late 2020 [and also getting Prior CPA Legend], abruptly decided to stop supporting RFCP [and consequently revoked Prior's Legend] and wrote the ProSect posts in 2021 to conclusively destroy their influence. Ran the CPA Wiki since March 2020 barring some off-periods and even made it to admin of CPA Org in December 2022, albeit being removed in March 2023 due to bias/corruption concerns. Moderately active as of July 2023, sometimes commenting on current affairs.

Justin Cooper- An unaffiliated journalist with no prior CPA history who wrote a web post detailing RFCP's behaviour. Never involved himself further in armies affairs and hasn't been heard from since releasing his article.

RFCP Rejects/RFCP Awoken Server- A Discord server established by MaddieCW in late May of 2020 as a safe space for former members of RFCP. Spent some time trying to get the RFCP server taken down by Discord, to no avail. Eventually shut down due to inactivity as server members either moved on from pursuing RFCP or switched to alternative methods of taking the army down.

MaddieCW- The leader of the RFCP Awoken server. Departed RFCP following the CPAM withdrawal in May 2020 and quickly switched to a hostile position regarding RFCP, starting the RFCP Awoken server in an effort to permanently damage RFCP. Eventually abandoned this pursuit and stuck to traditional armies, affiliating with ACP. Active as of July 2023, also working as a Reporter for CPA Org.

CPWorld2001/Flen- A long-time member of the army community; took it upon himself to infiltrate Club Penguin Warfare and, after taking ownership of the site and league CPPS, totally destroyed both. Remained active sporadically up till Spring 2023, helping manage various websites including the Club Penguin Armies (2022) site.

People's Imperial Confederation- An army founded by Sidie9 [also known at the time as Eva] in 2019 prior to shutting it down to join RFCP. Later reopened and became a safe haven for countless ex-members of RFCP. Shut down following a multilogging scandal after making it to the finals of Challenger's Cup but has reopened since.

Shallissa- An original member of RFCP who worked her way up to 3ic numerous times. Originally left in September 2020 alongside her boyfriend-of-the-time SupremeP0wer. Together, they wrote the 'Shapreme' website. After a brief stint in Templars, joined PIC in January of 2021 before eventually retiring from the community. Eventually returned and currently leads PIC once more as of July 2023.

Sidie9- Joined RFCP in Autumn 2019 after growing close to Prior. Left in late January of 2020 under dubious circumstances that have never been "publicly" discussed by either party. Revived PIC shortly afterwards, which became a safe haven for various other former members of RFCP including several listed here. Currently leads a new generation of PIC as of July 2023.

LuckyLuigi/SupremeP0wer- An individual recruited into RFCP in January of 2020 whom left the army and then promptly doxxed several members of the HICOM. Later resurfaced under the Supreme alias in mid-2020 and joined RFCP after befriending Prior. Grew close to Shallissa, even dating her, and helped her leave RFCP behind and then expose the army/Prior in the 'Shapreme' website. Involved in PIC for a time, but eventually fell out with the army after his relationship with Sha ended. Returned under the alias of 'Ether' as leader of Dark Vikings for a few months before finally retiring altogether. Developed a more negative reputation towards the end for his shadier dealings with less reputable characters.

ProSect- An organisation founded by Eden dedicated to anti-corruption. Used by Rowan to write a series of posts in Spring of 2021 which definitively shut the door on RFCP ever returning to the community.

Templars of Club Penguin- Provided a safe space for former members of RFCP and actively fought RFCP in warfare on multiple occasions. In 2022, TCP creator Xing [alongside WV leader Aaronstone] led efforts to shed light on secret affiliations between RFCP and a newly-revived LGA and hold LGA accountable. Led in 2022 by Cabin and later Dawnables, both former members of RFCP. Still led by Dawn as of July 2023, among others.
